Hills Before the Hustle (HBTH) was established to promote an active mindset and lifestyle, on and off the dirt, while engaging in giving back to the local community. HBTH all began with a combination of hills and hustle: wake up, hit the trails early, head home, shower, get to work, go home, sleep, and repeat. Want to know more? Read on.
During the winter of 2019, on a frigid 27 degree morning in Ohio, HBTH was born. We’d set the alarms, load up, and meet in the foothills of Southern Ohio. (We may be a little biased, but it is some of the best single track in the state). In the early morning hours as the sun was just rising, we’d gear up and lay out that morning’s ride while hitting the trails and covering as much ground as possible in a couple of hours. Sometimes with only minutes to spare, we’d rush home to shower and head directly into work. This became not only a lifestyle, but a mindset that lasted throughout the day. And so, the HUSTLE was born. This has bred a passion and love for the freedom that MTBing gives to us, our friends, families, and riders we’ve had a pleasure to share the trails with. If you’re reading this, then you know exactly what we mean. We ARE Hills Before the Hustle and we welcome each and every one of you into the HBTH family.
When you jump on your bike and get behind the handlebars there is a sense of freedom. Everyday you are behind a set of rules. When you’re out on the trails you’re alone, you’re yourself; yet, still joined together with the climb, the speed, the adrenaline, and the companionship of those along with you. This feeling is what represents Hills Before the Hustle.
Hills Before the Hustle is more than a phrase. It’s an entire mountain biking lifestyle. It’s about giving back to your community and future generations.
